Sacramento, Calif. – Touting Craig DeLuz’s dedication to sound business policies and “get it done” political effectiveness, California State Sen. Roger Niello has joined other leading Northern California Republicans in endorsing DeLuz in his bid for the 6th Congressional District seat currently held by Congressman Ami Bera.
“As a business owner, Craig will champion for reversing the disastrous economic policies of the Biden administration that have devastated businesses through staggering inflation and a crushing regulatory environment,” says Niello, a longtime businessman and elected official serving areas within the 6th District.
Niello also credited DeLuz’s extensive experience working within the halls of the state capitol as a California Assembly staffer, policy activist, elected official to a school board and grassroots activist for having his pulse on what truly matters to constituents and “knowing how to get things done, a skill sorely lacking in D.C. today,” Niello says. “He is one of the most effective people I’ve met when it comes to working to get no-nonsense, conservative policies in place.”
DeLuz has more than 30 years of experience in politics, including being elected to Robla School District Board in 2005, where he has served as president for over 10 years. While on the school board, he has made STEAM education a priority and led the charge to transform Robla campuses into state-of-the-art facilities that prepare students for the jobs of the future. He has also served as a legislative staffer in the California State Assembly with an extensive history as a media professional, policy analyst, and grassroots activist in the Greater Sacramento region.
“I have long respected Sen. Niello for all the work he has done for the Sacramento area and for his sharp business acumen,” DeLuz said in response to the endorsement. “His work inspires me to be a champion for businesses, especially small businesses, that serve as the backbone to our economy. He and I are in complete agreement that our economy will be so much better for families and businesses alike if the government just gets out of the way.”
Niello is the latest in a line of prestigious leaders to endorse DeLuz, including longtime lawmaker and Board of Equalization District member Ted Gaines. Niello has deep ties to the Sacramento region at the heart of the 6th Congressional District, having been a businessman for 25 years before elected to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, and later to the Assembly in 2004.
After his time in the Assembly concluded, Niello accepted an appointment as President and CEO of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce. He was elected to represent Placer and Sacramento counties in the State Senate in 2022.
